FileDroid Help
Here are some of the most important features of FileDroid.
Copy/Move – Access the Copy/Move feature with a long-touch on the target file/folder. When you select Copy or Move from the pop-up menu, a Paste button appears beside the Home button. Navigate to the folder where you would like to move the file or place a copy of the file and touch the Paste button.
Search – Use the Search feature in the Menu to find files on your phone. FileDroid doesn't yet support Regular Expressions, so use .jpeg instead of *.jpeg to search for JPEG image files. Once Search finds the file, you can Send the file as an e-mail attachment, use Open Folder and open the folder where the file resides, Delete the file and/or get More Info about it.
Compress/Extract – FileDroid allows you to compress Files/Folder into ZIP files. To access the Compress feature, use a long touch on the File/Folder and choose Compress. You have the option of compressing the file/folder and sending it as e-mail attachment or compress and store it. A long touch on a ZIP/APK will produce an option to extract the files inside. You'll be able to choose between extracting to the current folder or to another location. To extract to another location, use the same procedure as you use for copying/moving a file.
MultiSelect - MultiSelect allows you to select multiple file/folders. The feature can be accessed with a long-touch on a file/folder, and then selecting MultiSelect from the menu. To add additional files/folders, long-touch each additional file/folder and select Add to Selection. When you are done selecting files, long-touch the last selected file and you will see the various actions you can take on your selected files/folders. Currently, FileDroid supports Copy, Move, Compress or Delete for your selections. If at any point of time you want to cancel MultiSelect, touch the cancel button at the top left.
Shortcuts - Shortcuts provide an easy way to access your favorite files right from your home screen by creating a shortcut icon on the home screen. To use this feature, simply long-touch any file and select Create Shortcut from the menu. This creates a shortcut on the home screen. You can move/delete the shortcut like any other file or icon you might have on your home screen.
